Introduction
A key feature of human society is that it consists of different types of people that have many similarities and differences in appearance, the timbre of the voice, character, interests, inclinations, preferences, abilities, skills, talents. Every man is distinguished for certain characteristics of his personality, missing by someone else and vice versa.
The international scientific literature of the career counseling sector has been enhanced with several theories that attempt to combine individual personalities, preferences, inclinations, interests, talents, abilities and skills of people with different professions.
The realistic, the investigative, the artistic, social, enterprising and conventional, are the six types of human personality as They recorded by the most widespread and internationally accepted theory of John Holland.
These six types are connected and are surrounded by respective workplaces.
The Hexagon of Holland
To find the affinity of various types, by John Holland has developed a hexagonal, known as "Holland's hexagon", whereby the similarities and differences among the six personality types are displayed with the following scheme:
Personality types that are closer together have higher similarities. The practical and the research type such as shown in the top left and top right of the figure, usually have more common interests.
On the contrary, the practical and social are more differences. The conventional type is usually more common interests with the business and practical and less with social, artistic and research.
